(I have several of these posts in draft mode, waiting for the photos to be added. They’ll be up this week – and I know that these aren’t super helpful to anyone other than myself, but one day they’ll be printed and scrapbooked. I’ll thank myself then for writing the updates!)
This marked the week of baby’s first snow. She took it in stride, but I think she prefers to be inside right now. Next year I’m sure she’ll be trying to keep up with her big brother in the snow.
We’re hit or miss with sleeping through the night. Darn teeth.
This week we tried the spinach/peas/pear combo and she loved it! We also tried Cheerios. I think she’ll be a bigger fan once her two top teeth come in.
Speaking of teeth, we can see one of her lateral incisors coming in (I totally had to Google search teeth to figure out what the correct term was for that.) So it’s not her top two middle/front teeth, it’s a tooth next to those. A little bit of Orajel did the trick Monday night and she finally was comforted.
She just loves her big brother, and she squeals when she sees the cat. If she can get her hands on the cat, then she is in heaven. The cat doesn’t mind being near her, but the baby likes to grab on and not let go – so that’s something we’re working on.
Oh, and big brother just happened to be standing beside me saying her name – that’s how we got the smiles for these photos.
She’s so strong at sitting up, and is starting to figure out how to use her legs to get herself down. Before we know it, she’ll be crawling. Right now it’s easy to drag herself on our hard floors, so there’s no use in crawling!
This week she tried broccoli and apple (a combo) and was pleasantly surprised. I’m starting to not give her such pureed foods and she’s really trying to figure out if she likes all of the textures. I made butternut squash the other night (and froze into cubes) and I didn’t puree it as much as she’s used to. She still likes the squash, but the texture of it definitely threw her off.
It’s hard to believe in 3.5 months she’ll be a year old! I’m not ready for that.
