Years ago, my husband and I attended a neighbor’s party and they served sangria. I remember trying to copy the recipe the following week (and the week after that.) When we go out, we occasionally order sangria if it’s on the drink menu, but it can be pricey for something that’s fairly simple to create. (Also, it’s not the same buying it at a restaurant, compared to making and enjoying your own batch.) But this recipe? This Cherry Citrus Sangria may just be the ticket to getting us through the rest of the summer. Cherries have been plentiful lately, so it’s pretty perfect for summertime.
It just so happens that my husband loves cherries, and I love citrus. The Cherry Citrus Sangria is the perfect combo for us, and sangria happens to be so easy to pull together! I think since it has so much fruit, it can be considered healthy. (Let’s just believe that for now, ok?)
So now you need to make your own (and let me know how much you love it.) Add this recipe to your next party. Your guests will love it.
8 ounces Bing Cherries
1 Bottle Red Wine
1 cup Flavored Vodka
2 cups Lemon Lime soda
2 cups Tropical Fruit Punch
Wash Limes and Oranges. Cut into thick slices.
Cut cherries in half and remove pit.
Pour bottle of wine and one cup of flavored vodka into pitcher.
Add fruit and allow fruit to soak for one hour.
Add two cups of sprite and two cups of tropical fruit punch before serving.
Add four cups of ice and enjoy.
