{October 2014} 10 Things to Smile About #10Things
I love October. It’s normally my favorite month of the year. This October was a little stressful (homecoming-induced panic attacks, thankyouverymuch) but there were plenty of things to smile about. I’m linking up again for 10 Things to Smile About!
1. Corn mazes. We went twice in October!
2. My friends and family members rallied and did the LaZoom comedy tour with me for my birthday. It was fantastic. I need to share the photos because they are hilarious.
3. Fall running is my favorite. I ran with Carol a couple of times, the weather was mostly gorgeous, and we even ran the Thomas Wolfe 8k this month!
4. I survived Homecoming.
5. I celebrated 7 years of marriage with my husband, Kenny.
6. My family visited for a week. My brother was home for two weeks (he just moved to South Korea for a year) and my dad, stepmom and grandma all came to Asheville to see him (and me, Lucas and Kenny.) It was a time packed full of fun – especially on Lucas’ part. He loves having an audience!
7. We visited the apple orchard again.
8. My in-laws came for a weekend. (We had a really busy month!)
9. Drives on the Blue Ridge Parkway in October are always excellent.
10. Our boy is Elmo for Halloween. When he tried on his costume (which he has outgrown since I bought. *SIGH*), he wanted us to be sure we knew that he was still Lucas. His words, “I not really Elmo. I’m Lucas.” Sweet, sweet boy.
11. We had family photos taken this month and several came out SO GREAT. I love them all and I’ve been using two on social media.
What are you smiling about this month? (And in case you missed it, I have a Jamberry giveaway happening now! Be sure to enter!)
You guys sure did a lot in October and you definitely have a lot to smile about. I can’t believe you did the corn maze twice 🙂
Sounds like a great month! Hope you start feeling better soon.
Wow, you sure had a busy month! Happy Birthday, Happy Anniversary, and Happy Halloween!
You did have a busy month! And oh those fall colors, love and so jealous! Happy Anniversary! Love the first picture, his smile is so cute! Thank you so much for linking up.
You really did have a busy month! All the photos are so great. Happy belated anniversary to you!
I’m loving all of the colors on your drive through Blue Ridge Parkway! In texas, we dont have all those vibrant colors. I’m quite jealous.
Sounds like a good list. I love Corn Mazes also.
I love driving the Blue Ridge Parkway in the fall. The colors are so beautiful.
I always like October – it is beautiful by us in Wisconsin. This year we spent time with best friends and family.
You did so much this month. We did pumping picking, a hayride, attended a fairytale book signing, lost our first baby tooth, was Elsa for Halloween and went to our first movie screening with mom.
Our October was a little slow this year. Hubs is working for a few hospitals and they require their per diem people to fill in on weekends when needed. Since we only have his daughter on weekends, our family time has been limited.
Wow! What an October! Sounds like such a blast.. I love busy months like that!
Busy, but fun, month. I love the colors of fall. Hope your November is just as great!
Aw we didn’t visit the corn maze or an apple orchid this year! There’s still time though! Congrats on 7 years! We are celebrating 6 years in November!
I think this is a great blog post. I love the concept of recapping your month. It reminds you how much fun you really had despite being so busy.
Aaww, he wanted you to remember he was him, not Elmo. hahaha, that’s sweet!! And that mountain view really is gorgeous.
You had a very busy month! Congratulations on the anniversary!
My kids usually go to the corn maze with their school. This year, my little man was sick that day. We will have to go another time!
I don’t know how you fit in everything you do, and so much of it is fun, fun, fun! What gorgeous colors you get on that side of the state, by the way.
That is a beautiful view. I would love to do a corn maze but we don’t have any!
Love the family photos! I have yet to take the kids to a corn maze. Must do next year
I have been happy since we moved into our new house this summer. It has been fun getting organized and decorated. My kids make me smile every day. I try to enjoy all the little thing in life.
