Lucas turned 17 months just over a week ago and it’s almost impossible to get a photo of him with the blocks. He’d rather throw them.

Words: trash, water, nice, shoes, socks, pretty, CAT!, juice, food, I’m stuck. And so much more.

He has taken a huge liking to Legos. It’s so fun to watch him work so hard to get his Legos stacked. And as he’s stacking them he says, “that’s nice!” and tells us “house!” when he’s done. Not sure where he learned “house” from. Possibly from me. (One of his Lego sets does make a small house, and we played with it over a week ago.)

Flattery will get him everywhere, and he sometimes pats me and says “pretty, pretty.”

He loves to dance.

We’ve been teaching him about the trash can and how it’s “icky” (to try and deter him from grabbing trash.) He can say “trash” now. And all last week he kept holding his sippy cup and saying “juice!” He learned that from the kids at daycare, since they do get juice. Over the weekend he said, “it’s water.” Smart kid.

He’s definitely gone through a growth spurt in the past month. His jeans are fitting better (the 18-month size) and his medium gDiapers are tighter. We’re moving up in size in the gDiapers.

One of his two-year molars has broken through! So we’re 17 teeth down, only three more to go in the baby teeth department!

In regards to food, he’s still fairly picky about his vegetables (unless they’re pureed.) He loves grilled cheese sandwiches, apple slices, and really anything with cheese. He prefers beef to chicken. He really loves meatballs that I make for spaghetti and meatballs. Applesauce may be one of his favorites, though.

Old Macdonald is one of his favorite songs. He can tell you what a cow, sheep, dog, cat and duck say. The sheep is a new sound.

And a quick Lego video (at the end he says “oh no!” which is something he says fairly often.)

We think he’s brilliant, but we’re also a little biased.
