So many things have happened this month!

First, I can’t believe we’ve reached my baby girl’s half birthday. (Don’t anyone tell my son because he thinks half birthdays deserve parties and cake and the whole nine yards.) It’s just unfathomable that it’s all downhill to her second birthday now.

She is finally, FINALLY walking. And she walks more than crawls. Two weeks ago she was taking a few steps, but now she’s trying to run. With walking came climbing. She likes to push a foot stool to the TV stand and then climb up to the top of the TV stand. We can’t let her out of our sight for even a minute.

She has about 20 words in her little vocabulary and she can clearly shake her head yes and no. The biggest problem is she doesn’t use ANY words at daycare. Not. a. one. It’s funny and frustrating. I realized all of this about a week or so ago when I saw on her daily report that they were working on sign language. I asked if she was using her words, and her teachers didn’t realize she had words. So. They know now, and we’re just trying to get her to open up.

She’s constantly teething, and therefore her sleep is crap. We’ll be discussing this with the doctor at her appointment this week.

She is THE sweetest at bedtime. She’ll let me rock her for a bit before she demands to be in her crib.  She still nurses twice a day (bedtime and morning) and I will probably drop one of those soon. Again, it’ll probably be discussed with the doctor this week.

She loves animals. She still gets excited over our cat, but also loves dogs and squeals with excitement when she sees a dog.

I got our jogging stroller tire fixed last week so we’ve been using the stroller frequently this week. She’s getting used to it. I’m hoping to be running with her in the jogging stroller more this fall and possibly this winter when it isn’t super cold out.

She is SO HAPPY! She loves to give her brother hugs, and he continues to think the world of her.
