18 months!
Our little guy is 18 months old, as of last Thursday! I took his monthly photos on Friday and have been so busy that I’m just now able to post about him.
We’re convinced that he’s gone through a growth spurt in the past month (or even the past two months.) You can see it so much in how his pants fit. I can generally tell by the amount of food he eats.
He loves food, and really loves it, if it comes from his mom’s plate. 🙂 Two weeks ago, he was eating pot roast. I gave him “his” vegetables (a pureed pouch of broccoli) and he insisted on eating the carrots that were on my plate. (They were cooked with the pot roast, so totally safe for him.) He loved them!
His favorite foods are pancakes, cheese, graham crackers, bananas, apples and broccoli/apple puree. Oh, and pizza!
He says SO MANY words. He says “pat cake” when he sees his pat-a-cake book. He will say pancakes and banana (though that one is trickier.) He’ll try to say cracker, which sounds more like a drawn out “car”. “Sorry” is a new word for him and he counts! He’s actually been counting since Christmas, but he’s more consistent now. He can count to five or six, and then skips to 9. He loves 9. He can also say “Chloe” and he calls Sophie “phoe”. Another new favorite word: mine. We are fairly certain he picked that up from daycare. He copies things that we say and last week he started saying “love you” when I say it to him.
He also blows kisses. I melt.
Sticks are so much fun. He likes to pick them up in our yard, which is great because we have so many of them.
He’s still sleeping through the night (yay!) and tends to go to bed by 7:30 and sleep until 7 or 7:30 the next morning.
He got his first real ear infection this month, and it was a double ear infection. (In August, he had a “pre-ear infection.”) He had a cold, double ear infection and cut his 18th tooth all at the same time. It was awesome. (read that with sarcasm.) He’s been on antibiotics since a week ago and will go back to the pediatrician later this week for his well visit.
When he weighed last week, he was about 22.5 pounds. I say about, because he was a little heavier when they weighed him, but he wouldn’t let us take his clothes off.
He does officially have 18 teeth. Only two more to go!
He loves climbing. He has fallen off the coffee table once, but only because he is quick! He tries to climb into the stereo cabinet, and on our dining room chairs. We have to watch him constantly.
He had his first time out at daycare a few weeks ago. He threw a block at someone. He actually does well with timeouts. They’re short, of course, but he will sit in one spot when you tell him he is in time out. (He has needed a few more since then.)
When he was sick, we introduced him to Sesame Street on Netflix. We’re so grateful for Netflix. He loves Elmo. Since he’s been feeling better, he doesn’t watch tv. Even if it’s on a show geared towards his age, he’ll often turn the tv off and/or tell us to play his music (which he does by pointing to the iPod dock and saying “this!”) The boy loves to dance.
He’s so much fun, and I’m anxious for the doctor to see just how much he has learned in the past three months!
So amazing how fast they learn at this age. I love these updates. Hugs to L from Michigan.
