This girl. She’s pretty amazing and this second year appears to be flying by.

She’s SUPER smiley. Her sleeping is somewhat back to her old sleeping self. This month brought us a double ear infection and some sort of sinus issue (I don’t want to call it a sinus infection, but we have a follow up in December to see if her ears are cleared or if they’re going to be a problem.)

Her vocabulary is growing and I think a lot of it has to do with her ears this time. We went from a lot of whining to using real words when the antibiotics had kicked in.

The two bottom teeth that you can’t see? They’re cutting. In fact, when I was brushing her teeth this weekend, one of them was bleeding (party to cutting through, and party from the toothbrush.) Poor girl. But this means we are SO CLOSE to the end of the teething process!

She is a CLIMBER. And an eater. She loves fruit, yogurt, vegetables – basically all foods besides meat. And grilled cheese sandwiches. Who would have guessed she wouldn’t be a fan of grilled cheese? I don’t even know if she’s my child anymore.

The day we took her photo, she refused to give up her apple. This is her latest obsession. She gets the apples out of a low bowl we use to collect some fruits and vegetables. And she eats it whole. We have to watch her carefully so she doesn’t choke on the apple peel, but she freaking loves apples and will eat the entire thing.

She loves hugs. She will randomly try to hug her brother (and he loves hugging her.) She’s obsessed with dogs. She gets giddy over a dog. And Elmo. We were in Target a few weeks ago and she practically jumped out of the cart to tackle a Tickle Me Elmo toy. (No worries. She’s getting one for Christmas.) She’s the sweetest little girl, but also very jealous if other kids are around and we even say hi to the other child.

This next week we’ll start decorating for Christmas, and I’m not even sure how we will babyproof the tree (however, with a 6-year-old and an almost 2-year-old, NOT having a tree is not an option.) She is sneaky, and we may stick to soft ornaments on the tree this year.

  1. Oh my goodness, she’s so darn adorable. You know what I love most about this? Some day she’ll be able to read it and see how silly she was for NOT loving grilled cheese sandwiches.
