20 months {baby update}
I’m realizing that our baby is really becoming her own person. I’m not quite sure when that happened. She has attitude (though she’s still pretty sweet), is becoming more and more independent, and she has her own opinions.
We’re getting over another double ear infection. One more in the next 2 months and we earn ourselves a visit with an ENT doctor to discuss tubes. We just pulled her from her daycare that she started in September, and in a couple of weeks she’ll start at an in-home daycare. (Our son’s previous babysitter has an opening, and has fewer children. It’s a completely different setting, and I think things are going to be really good there.)
She LOVES balls. Like is obsessed with balls, and I now make sure to avoid certain toy aisles when we’re out shopping. She might be our athlete one day.
We had a big snowfall this month, and she was not impressed with the snow! I think it was just too much for her (way too deep) and I still need to find her some proper snow boots without breaking the bank.
She’s had a few bad nights sleep-wise, but we’re getting better. I’m realizing that when she’s teething or battling the ear infections, we’re getting zero sleep. It didn’t help that I was sick on one of these nights, and that might have been one of the worst nights since she was born. (Took her to the doctor the next day and she got her ear infection diagnosis.)
She’s saying more words – but on her terms. If she doesn’t know you, she probably isn’t going to talk to you. That’s just how she is. She knows most of her body parts (head, eyes, nose, mouth, hands, feet, etc.) and her favorite phrase is “what’s that?” Even when she knows what “that” is, she asks.
She loves Elmo, cars, balls and most anything her brother is playing with. And I can’t believe it’s almost time to celebrate her second birthday!
What a cutie pie! I remember sleepless nights due to illness well, even though mine were a while ago. I hope you guys get some relief from it, either that they go away or she gets the tubes to help out – whichever happens and helps! I think the new daycare will be great as well. Our sons went to the same in-home daycare, and I think the atmosphere provided at an in-home daycare is a very big draw. Some kids seem to do better in a home-like setting. Happy Holidays!
