2015 Running Goals #RunnersTellAll
I’m linking up for Runners Tell All again. I’m sad that I discovered this series so late in the year. It’s a fun link-up! This month’s topic is recapping the 2014 running year and looking ahead at 2015 running goals.
In 2014, I ran several local races. I didn’t blog about them all. I set out to run 3 or 4 half marathons (I was signed up for 3 early on.) One half marathon was canceled. I ran one and I had to bail on the last one.
I was sick most of the fall running season. I did run the Thomas Wolfe 8k and I completed the Biltmore 15k in May. I ran the Fiddlin’ 5k for the first time in April and the Greenway Challenge 10k prior to the Fiddlin’ 5k. All were good times. I also tackled a major hill near campus (that I used to CRUSH when I was a college runner!) It was a good year, even if I didn’t break any records.
In 2015, I’d like to:
- Run more regularly.
- Run at least one half marathon.
- Complete more local races (not necessarily half marathons. 5ks and 10ks are good too!)
- Better my time. I used to be so much faster. I know I can get back to that.
- Run at least one race with my son (and the jogging stroller.)
I’m signed up for a 5k on January 1, and that’s it so far for 2015. I need to finalize my work trips and see where I’ll be and when – and what makes sense for racing.
I also want to blog more about my races. I did several in 2014 that I didn’t post about – and I love looking back at them!
I want to run smarter.
Bring on 2015! (Do you set fitness goals for the new year?)
I had set goals for 2015, but I am sitting here with a possibly torn achilles tendon, so my plans might be on hold for a while. I have an MRI this weekend, so I am hoping it’s just a sprain….fingers crossed.
You’ve got some great goals for the coming year. I hope you’re successful with your running goals. Best of luck to you in 2015.
I am so happy I found this post! I am getting back into running with a big race to support a client- Scranton’s 1/2 in April. Thank you for introducing me to this series. In fact today is my first day of training! I wish you luck this season in meeting your goals.
So great you have your goals outlined already. Good luck with reaching them all.
This sounds like a good deal for runners. Nice to set goals.
These are great goals! Running a race with your son would be a great experience.
I don’t do a lot of runs… well, I walk when I do them. But love doing the color run.
Wow so great! I need to figure out some goals and get this set for 2015. I hope for it to be a good year, but I’m just not sure what it will bring!
I too love making running goals for myself. It’s fun and a great way to keep yourself accountable!
I would just love to do a 5k! I am hoping to do one at Disney so that it’s motivation to go!
These goals sound great! Good luck in completing your goals in the upcoming years!
It is really fun to blog about your races and be able to look back on them. That’s a good goal for 2015:) thanks for linking up with us! Hope you had a great Christmas!
I have been running on the beach down here on Marco Island, I would love to set some goals for running some races.
Go for it! I’d say running more frequently is on my list as well. I really don’t enjoy it, but it is so good for you!
My son and I are doing the Commitment Day 5K on January 1st. I have a 10K on February 7th and half marathon on March 21st. Not sure what the rest of the year will bring.
This is cool that you have made this running goals for 2015. You are gonna do a marathon…wheeew! Keep us posted on them!
