25 weeks

Someone is 25 weeks old today!

We’re battling a horrible cold right now. It really hit us last Wednesday, and got significantly worse on Monday night. Took him to the doctor (second time in two weeks) just to be sure it wasn’t something more serious. And it’s “just” a cold. With a nasty cough when he is flat on his back (which happens, obviously, when he’s sleeping.) Fun times. (And on that note, we know he weighs 16 pounds, 13 ounces. I thought it would be more because of the cereal he’s eating, but also know he’s been sick and not wanting to take a bottle when I’m at work.)

Lucas is trying to form words. He has stuff to say, and he’s SO close to telling us what’s on his mind. It’s fun to watch. He also loves his feet. And leaning forward. And sometimes doing both at the same time.

This weekend, we had another set of grandparents (and a great-grandparent!) visiting. The baby was the entertainment. By Tuesday, he wasn’t sure what to do without all of the attention.


He’s in a mixture of 3-6 and 6-9 month clothes. Sadly, a lot of our 6-9 month clothes are short-sleeved and shorts. Not going to work with our freezing temperatures (and occasional warm day.) So it looks like we’ll be doing some shopping this weekend.


He’s been having a fun time sitting in his exersaucer and checking out the cat. He watches her closely. Last night, he almost had her tail as I held him in my lap.

This child still loves his rice cereal, and I think we may start a vegetable this weekend. With him being sick, I didn’t want to start something new and not know if he was reacting to it or if it was just the cold. He’s a good eater. My grandma even commented on how nicely he sits there and eats. I’m sure that’ll change.

He turns 6 months old next week! And he has another doctor appointment for shots and his well-visit check. I hope the doctors like us!

Oh, and we also think there may be more teeth on their way in. He isn’t fussy yet, but he does like to chew!
