Our toddler is 27 months old. I missed posting about his 26th month (I am writing it down, in hopes of one day compiling all of these posts for his baby/toddler/childhood books.) Since I missed his 26th month on here, and I feel bad about it, you are getting month 27…even if it’s a bit late.

27months_1 He still loves talking, singing, socializing – but not in huge groups. He would prefer just a few people to entertain. He loves music and he’s been talking so much about banjos. I think he picked up a love for the banjo on a PBS show. I’m not 100% sure.

He has friends at daycare, but he’s the oldest child there. He’s big on telling YOU to share, but he hasn’t quite grasped the concept that he has to share, too. He is a fan of dinosaurs and blocks. Oh how he loves blocks.

Lucas has started making up his own stories to his books. He looks at the pictures and jabbers to himself. It’s cute.

He can count to 20, maybe missing 13 or another number. He really is so bright. And he LOVES to tell you what each letter is on a sign! He does this while we’re driving, and we just have to trust he did see the letter(s).

27months_2 We’ve resorted to bribery. He rarely gets lollipops, but notice what he’s holding in his monthly photo. (No judging, please.)

In early December we went to Sesame Street Live. We had a little hesitation in taking him (it was a 90 minute show), but he LOVED every minute of it! That’s another post for another day.

We’ve started singing at bedtime. He’s a big fan of Old MacDonald (but he has to tell you the animals – and he makes you do sounds for Tigger, Pooh, Piglet and other random animals he has near his crib) and She’ll Be Coming Around the Mountain. I have no idea where he got the second song, but I sing it to him.

He’s at a good place in his two-dome right now. The 2’s have been terrible, but it hasn’t been quite as awful the past month or so.

Here’s hoping it gets even better as the months go by – and that I can get his monthly update posted a little earlier in the month!
