Quigley Motors is located in Boyertown, PA, just north of Pottstown and about 90 minutes outside of Philadelphia. They pride themselves in providing excellent customer service, and were recently awarded the Customer First Award for Excellence by Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. They are not only a dealership, but they offer a full service and repair shop, providing quality work for your vehicle.
The Carousel at Pottstown – Their carousel was built in 1905 and was originally set up in Ohio. It’s since been moved, dismantled and restored over many years. I love the history behind carousels, and this one seems like a great one for families to check out when in the area.
Hot Air Balloon Rides – Pennsylvania and New York are beautiful in the fall. You get the cooler temps, combined with the changing colors and a hot air balloon ride would be really fun to experience in Pottstown.
The Henry Antes House – This is an example of a Moravian settlement house and was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1992. The structure still has a lot of its original interior finish, ceilings and partition walls. Tours are available by appointment. When we travel, my husband loves learning the history of places we’re visiting. I guarantee we’ll be visiting this house on one of our next trips north. (And how cool would it be for my kids to see?)
Bonus: I really am interested in checking out the trains in this area. You won’t find many in the mountains of NC (where I live) and I think my kids would LOVE to see trains.
I love that this town is so close to Philadelphia and is home to so much history. So if you’re in the Philadelphia area (living there or visiting), Pottstown would be a simple day trip. We’ve visited Philadelphia a few times – but in the winter – and have checked out other smaller towns. It’s such a fun area!
