Our garden is really growing now! The husband picked a zucchini a few weeks ago, and I felt it was too small, so I made him promise not to pick any more vegetables unless I gave permission. 🙂 We had a salad last weekend that was all homegrown vegetables, and tonight he finally made me pick the zucchini that’s getting a little too big. (My mom agreed that it needed to be picked, but I was willing to let it keep on growing.)

Of course, I took pictures! (I weighed the larger one, and it weighed about 3.4 pounds.)

And the little zucchini:

I’m already looking forward to next summer’s garden. I want to expand what we have now, and I have learned what will work, what doesn’t work, and what I’ve made mistakes with (beans and peas.)

Oh, and I’m considering making zucchini bread. Anybody who reads this ever try making it??

  1. My best friend is having similar luck with her zucchini … I can’t wait until we move into our new house so I can get our garden going too!

P.S. Zucchini bread is delicious! Though I usually do them as muffins so we can freeze and pull out one for breakfast occasionally.
