31 weeks pregnant – time flies #pregnancy #update
We hit 31 weeks yesterday. The appointments now start happening every two weeks, and soon we’ll be at weekly appointments….and I don’t know how that happened.
When the doctor left the room yesterday, my husband said, “over spring break we will have to finish two bedrooms, buy a new car, sell a car, and….” So I’m not the only one who is overwhelmed. And, yes, we do have to sell one of our cars (it is just too small for two car seats) and we know what we want to replace it with, but haven’t focused our efforts on car buying.
So. 31 weeks. Let’s see how we’re doing.
How far along am I: 31 Weeks. (Comparison to last pregnancy)
Size of baby: She should be over 3 pounds.
Total Weight Gain/Loss: I saw my weight at the doctor’s office yesterday and it isn’t pretty. We just won’t discuss it right now. Let’s just hope that this baby weighs a lot more than 3 pounds. It would make me feel better.
Clothes: I haven’t had to buy any new maternity clothes in a couple of months, but I may be splurging on new Pure Body short-sleeve shirts from Gap. Love the long-sleeve version, and it’s getting warmer here.
Gender: It’s a girl!
Movement: She doesn’t move as much as Lucas did. In the evenings, everything feels tight, and I think it might be going from full-on chasing Lucas mode to sitting down, and she has a chance to move around. Lucas is still a mover and a shaker. We’re hoping this one is a little more calm.
Sleep: I’m still averaging less than six and a half hours of sleep at night. There are a few nights I’ve been sleeping less than six hours. It isn’t pretty.
What I miss: Regular sleep (between Lucas and Chloe, I may never sleep again.) Eating without pain.
Cravings: Grapefruit juice. I just feel like I need it some nights.
Symptoms: Besides the incredible weight gain, and the obvious pregnancy look?
Best moment this week: Realizing we have less than 10 weeks before this baby is here. Also, my mom has been working on Lucas’ new room, which means he’ll be moved out of the small room sooner, rather than later, and we can get the nursery put together.
I get a lot of looks and comments about how far along I am. I don’t think my height helps with the look of the weight distribution, but the comments are getting a little ridiculous. I’ve been compiling another post of the comments, and what is/isn’t appropriate to say to the pregnant lady. There are a couple of people I work with who are also expecting, so it’s been fun to compare all of the stupid things people say.
I’m still working out, lifting weights. I’m not lifting as much as I was back in September (obviously), and when I finish lifting, I walk on the treadmill until I need to get back to my office. I’m taking it month by month, and I hope to at least make it to April before I give up the weight lifting.
