We can’t get these next two teeth fast enough! I’m using Orajel for her at night, but it doesn’t always stop her from waking to nurse once or twice during the night. It’s a lot on a mom who is already getting very little sleep.

This week we tried a couple of regular foods that we had for dinner (rice, plain macaroni noodles, plain avocado.) She handles the textures just fine, but it’s still tough chewing. She does love Cheerios, though. I place them on her tray before sitting her in her highchair and she starts shoveling them into her mouth before she’s in place!

We’re in the squirmy-on-the-changing-table stage. She likes to flip around and grab whatever is within reach. She also enjoys watching herself in the mirror.

She can say “mama” and “dada” but she uses those words sparingly. This week she perfect clapping and yelling “yay!” She will also wave “hi” and we’re working on “bye.” My favorite moment was walking her down the hallway to go to bed and she clapped and said, “yay!” She really does love going to bed. (It’s the middle of the night that she is having trouble with sometimes.)

I’ve been trying to do more sign language with her. She can sign “milk” and we’re working on “eat” and “more”. Her brother spoke early (and often) so signing was used, but not for long. She just can’t seem to get a word in.

Someone asked if she’s always happy and the truth is, she really is happy most of the time. She’s the smiliest baby I’ve ever known and we are super lucky.
