48 weeks {baby update}
So, so close to a whole year. This girl has been sick for two weeks. I took her to the doctor on Thursday and the pediatrician confirmed it was just a cold. But it’s been a miserable cold (which has run its course through the family. Unfortunately, there’s very little you can do for a baby.)
She has been eating chicken when we have that for dinner. She loves guacamole. Can’t get enough of it. And she loves bananas. When I give her breakfast, I slice a banana and she’ll eat the whole thing.
Her brother still loves to make her laugh, and she loves to get into everything. One evening I was cooking dinner and I heard the sound of the cat food hitting the floor – she had dumped a whole bowl of food and was trying to eat it. When you tell her “no” she shakes her head and seems to understand what she shouldn’t be doing….and does it anyway.
She has graduated from the baby tub. We still have the infant tub in the bathroom, but it’s going to be making its away out of the house soon. She LOVES baths! I put her in the big tub (with very little water) because she was splashing so much in her infant tub. Now I can give her more toys, and she plays as long as the water is somewhat warm. I need to get her into swim classes soon.
If she is familiar with you, she’ll say “hi.” When I leave her in the morning, she says “hi.” And she has entered the “uh oh” phase. It’s somewhat subtle at this point, but it’s increasing. She has 6 teeth, and I know that she’s still teething the way she chews on her fingers. (I hate teething, by the way. It’s so awful for babies.)
Plans for her first birthday party are underway! š
With our oldest, when he outgrew the infant tub, we used a laundry basket in the tub. It kept all his toys contained and he wasn’t sliding around the whole bathtub, but it let him splash as much as he wanted!
I love this idea! I actually bought a bath mat so she won’t slide. And her favorite toy at the moment is a washcloth. š
Still so cute! Hard to believe she’s almost one. Time flies. And, I have to laugh about the infant tub because we just quit using it for our daughter who’s nearly 2-1/2! LOL She’s been content in it and even asked for it back when we tried to take it away so I didn’t fight it. She just started accepting the big tub this week.
We keep juggling the bathtub in the bathroom – our bathroom is so small! So I’m excited to get rid of it (and I have a friend who is expecting and the tub is going to her!) And ohmyword I don’t know how you were using it for your daughter. š
