Jen tagged me in this post a few weeks ago and I finally sat down and answered my questions. (Sorry for the lateness, Jen!)
1- What are you wearing-
My Color Run t-shirt and shorts. And glasses. It’s one of those days (and I haven’t had one of “those days” in quite some time.)
2- Ever been in love?
3- Ever had a terrible break up?
I’ve had my share of terrible break-ups (and some great break-ups.) I don’t know that breaking up is always the easiest thing in the world.
4- How tall are you?
5- How much do you weigh?
I plead the fifth.
6- Any tattoos?
7- Any piercings?
Just in my ears.
8- OTP (one true pair, favorite fictional couple)
Can I go with any of my favorite television couples? Kelly and Dylan, Joey and Pacey, Ross and Rachel, Monica and Chandler, Meredith and Derek (though I’m really sad about what Shonda Rhimes is doing with them this season.)
9- Favorite show
I could say see above, but really. I’m passionate about television. This fall I’m watching: Mindy Project, New Girl, Modern Family, Grey’s Anatomy, Project Runway (I stream that) and, and, and……
I have the entire series of Friends, Gilmore Girls, Dawson’s Creek, Grey’s Anatomy. I love television. (A little too much.) But not enough to prevent me from cutting cable last October! (And I don’t regret it…still.)
10- Favorite band(s)?
ANOTHER passion topic for me! I love Edwin McCain. Matt Nathanson, Stephen Kellogg, Ingrid Michaelson, Jack Johnson, Jason Mraz, Eric Hutchinson, Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift (She took several years for me to love.) I have SO many artists that I love. One of my favorite parts of my previous job was doing music podcasts with various bands – mostly local. And I wrote the occasional weekly band story.
11-Something you miss-
Summers on my grandparents farm. My grandma sold the property about 4 years ago and it’s sad that my son won’t get to experience those adventures.
12- Favorite song?
I have so, so many. Angel by Matt Nathanson is still one of my favorites and it used to be the one that I woke to when I had a CD Alarm Clock (because it started on the first song of the album.)
13- How old are you?
I just turned 36!
14- Zodiac sign?
15- Quality you look for in a partner?
Honesty, humor – and just about all of the qualities my husband has. 😉
16- Favorite quote?
It’s a lyric from “Alive” by Edwin McCain. A friend actually had this embroidered on a pillow for me.
“You take the good and the bad and the time in between
It lets us know we’re alive”
17- Favorite actor-
Robin Williams was right up there in my favorites.
18- Favorite color –
Blue, which is kind of perfect since now I have the excuse of matching our school colors (blue and gold.)
19- Loud music or soft?
Depends. If I’m in my office? I’m looking for upbeat that will get me through my day. If I’m driving home, I need something softer.
20- Where do you go when you’re sad?
For a run.
21- How long does it take you to shower?
15 minutes? Sometimes shorter because I have a toddler to tend to.
22- How long does it take you to get ready in the morning?
Forever because I’m not just readying myself. It takes me 90 minutes to get myself and my toddler out the door (this includes eating breakfast, making sure lunches are prepped, teeth are brushed….)
23- Ever been in a physical fight?
24- Favorite quality in your significant other
Kenny is so smart and funny and kind. He sees good in everyone.
25- Where did you meet your significant other?
On the internet. (We had mutual friends, though, so I wonder if we would have eventually met through them…)
26- The reason I started blogging?
Several people in the newsroom were wanting to start blogs and it was my job to be a technical support for them. I stuck with it because it was a cool way for family to keep up with me from hundreds of miles away.
28- Last thing that made you cry?
Someone said a few insulting things to me, in front of a much larger group this weekend. It wasn’t kind, and I held it together until I was able to leave that building.
29- Last time you said you loved someone?
This morning to my husband and my son.
30- Meaning behind the name of your blog?
The spelling of my name – when you add an apostrophe – can be a french derivative of “to love” or “I love you.” I heard this originally from a photo guy at CVS in Buffalo, NY when I was in high school. One day I thought it would be the best domain and I had to wait for it to expire. When it expired (I don’t think it was even being used before), I quickly bought it and moved over. My last domain was life according to Jaime and I’ve had a series of other names throughout the years.
31- Last book you read?
“In Your Dreams” by Kristin Higgins (and I have Blog Inc. on order – delivering tomorrow.)
32- Book you are currently reading?
I’m not reading anything yet, but Blog Inc. should be my next book.
33- Last show you watched?
34- Last person you talked to?
35- The relationship between you and the person you just texted?
Last text was with Susanna, Karen and Jen. We’re blog friends turned in-real-life friends and they are the best girls out there. I wish Atlanta and Chicago weren’t so far away! (Susanna lives close by and I met her through my husband years and years ago.)
36- Favorite food?
Pasta, garlic, preferably together. And bread. I basically love all carbs.
37- Place you want to visit?
38- Last place you were?
In my house? The living room. Yesterday I left the house for an hour and went to Target. Prior to that, I spent two days at Mars Hill University.
39- Do you have a crush?
Maybe of the actor kind.
40- Last time you kissed someone?
This morning. My son told me he needed a kiss. 🙂
41- Last time you were insulted?
Friday night. See above.
42- Favorite flavor of sweet?
43- What instruments do you play?
None, except maybe the kazoo. My brother plays the trombone in the Army band, and my son loves his piano, trumpet, kazoo and making up instruments such as the accordion, saxophone and trombone. Oh and the drums. I think my son will play instruments for sure.
44- Favorite piece of jewelry?
I have two necklaces from Studio Jewel. One necklace from Create Beauty Daily and I switch between all three. I love my engagement ring/wedding rings too. I never leave home without them. 🙂
45- Last sport you played?
In college I ran cross country. Does that count? Otherwise, I don’t do organized sports. I run. We’re not organized.
46- Last song you sang?
Twinkle Twinkle Little Star
47- Favorite chat up line?
48- Have you ever used it?
49- Last time you hung out with anyone?
Last night we hosted some of our neighbors for pumpkin pancakes for dinner. I love our neighbors!
