Our little guy is six months old!

6months

He had his six month well visit on Thursday. Everything checked out great! He weighs 17 pounds, 4 ounces and is 25.75 inches long. So he’s grown 5 inches since he was born, and has more than doubled his birth weight. In fact, he gained more than half of a pound in a week (since his last visit for the cold.)

He is wearing 6-9 month clothes and a size 3 (or medium) diaper.

He’s rolled over a few times in the past couple of weeks, but doesn’t like to do it too much. He’s perfectly content with kicking his legs up, flopping over to the side to grab a toy, and then flipping back over to his back. No need to get the stomach on the floor!

People keep telling us to wait until he finds his voice. I’m pretty sure he’s found it. He just doesn’t like to share it all of the time.

He’s a fan of sticking his tongue out, sucking on his lip and blowing raspberries. Especially while eating. He loves cereal and sweet potatoes (we think because both are mixed with breast milk, which he’s familiar with), but is NOT a fan of pears at the moment. We’re still working on pears. And will probably stop those by Wednesday and start something different.

The nasty cold is finally gone. And even better, someone has slept through the night four nights in a row! He has been waking around 6, and then going back to sleep for another hour or two. (Longer on the weekend.)

Bedtime has been easier and easier. Naptime is getting better. He has a Tigger lovey that he starts out with and we take away when he’s asleep.

Happy six months, little bear! 🙂

(Those final three pictures were taken last Monday. By professionals…obviously.)
