8 days into the new year, and we have plans

Remember how I said we didn’t have any trips planned for 2010 and that made me very, very happy? Well, forget what I said. It took 8 days and we started making travel plans.

My cousin who lives in New York is getting married in October! She called me Friday, and the wedding date has been set for October 9. That means we’ll most likely be flying up on my birthday.

I’m pretty excited about this for several reasons. First, I really love her fiance. It’s about time they decided to marry! Second, this trip feels like a family reunion of sorts. My dad and stepmom will be flying up, I’ll get to see family all in one place, and it won’t be for something sad.

So, it only took eight days into the new year for us to start planning our next trip. It took nine for me to plan a trip with my mom, but details on that will come as soon as we book the plane tickets. I don’t want to jinx anything!
