Lucas is 9 weeks old today!

9wks

He had a doctor’s appointment today and we learned he weighs 12 pounds, 5 ounces. He’s in the 75th percentile as far as his weight is concerned. He’s 22.5 inches long, so he’s grown two and a half inches since he was born, which puts him just under 50th percentile. I guess we should expect that since his parents are short.

He had his first round of shots today. I’m not sure who was more upset. Me or Lucas? Either way, he slept most of the day, and he seems to be feeling fine now.

The child slept from 10:30 p.m. until 5:40 a.m. last night. I thought I read the clock wrong – I checked 3 different clocks. The doctor said now to anticipate that becoming a habit right now since he’s breastfed and not formula fed. A girl mom can still hope, though, right?

He does suffer from some reflux issues, but none that are causing him any weight issues (obviously) or pain. If they become a bigger issue, the doctor said she could prescribe something for him. For now, we just watch him – and make sure we have plenty of burp cloths lying around.

He officially turned two months old on Monday. (oh my gosh. Where is the time going?)

2months

We’re moving up in gDiaper sizes as soon as we run out of the current inserts. (Don’t want to waste, but he’s also growing out of the small gDiapers.) He’s still in a size one diaper, but those are also being phased out. His 0-3 month clothes are also becoming an issue. Seriously. Stop growing, kid. We want you to be little for a little bit longer.

As far as everything else – he likes to throw his arms and legs around, move his head from side to side, listen in on conversations and even put his two cents in when he can. He hates tummy time, but he’s definitely holding his head up better with every day that passes. (The doctor confirmed that laying him on our chest can be considered tummy time, since he has to lift his head to look at us.)

I go back to work in 2.5 weeks. Hold me.
