So we had an unexpected weekend.
Wednesday night, I talked to my dad and he and my grandma decided to come up for the weekend. My grandma is visiting him for the month, and this was the only free weekend they had. (He did call me earlier Wednesday to see if they could come up on Friday.) They arrived Friday evening and it’s been a whirlwind.
Saturday was homecoming at my alma mater, Mars Hill College. Kenny decided to stay home and work on grad school, so the rest of us (plus my mom) headed up to MHC. We ate lunch on Main Street, walked around, talked to my old cross country coach (and boy do I feel old now – I met a few of the current runners, and a couple of prospects with them.) We made it home Saturday afternoon just in time for Lucas to take a nap.
This afternoon, we decided to head down to Hendersonville to check out a pumpkin patch and apple orchard. I took so many photos – and even some good photos. My main computer is in the room my dad is sleeping in, so photos will have to wait until tomorrow. (just trust me, some are good.) We bought a pumpkin, a half bushel of apples (for my mom to make applesauce) and peck of apples for us…as well as several treats they were selling. We made it home later than we anticipated, due to an accident on the interstate, and trying to navigate our way through traffic mess.
And now it’s after 9, and I should be in bed. I’m convinced that I should be in bed by 8 or 8:30 every night, just so I’m rested for the baby’s middle of the night wake-ups. (I totally went to bed at 8:40 last night. It made waking up at 1:45 so much easier.)
How was your weekend? Any fall-like activities?
