a little midweek/end-of-week random posting – the I love summer edition
It’s been a hectic week. The husband is finishing up work for the summer (he works in education) and he also has two weeks remaining in his current grad school class. Next week won’t be any calmer and the following week is going to throw us for a loop.
I love summer.
Next Wednesday, my friend April and I are going to see NKOTB and Boyz II Men! (98 Degrees will also be there, but I’m not really a fan.) The husband gave me two tickets to this concert for Valentine’s Day and since he’s not really a fan, I’m taking my bff since 7th grade!
The following week the husband will be out of town for a work presentation and then we are vacation bound! I really need to work on a list of what we need to take. And have my car checked out just to be sure it’s ready for the trip.
I realized yesterday that I cannot keep up with my lunchtime running during the summer. It was 82 when I was running yesterday and my app said it felt like 85. It was miserable.
I made the mistake of searching for beach rentals (just on a whim.) Oh my. Beach. Oceanside view. Want.
We’re almost halfway through June and I’ve managed to keep up with the abs workout I started earlier this month. I’m kind of proud of this.
The kiddo has skipped one nap this week and shortened another. It makes evenings awful and I’m hoping he gets back on schedule quickly.
We started swim lessons again this past weekend. My child was the one screaming about getting in the water. He did. not. want. in. He eventually warmed up to it, but he clung to me. I’m hoping the next 3 sessions are better.
While putting away dishes, I noticed an envelope in one of our lower cabinets. It was a gift certificate for a massage that I received for Christmas. I thought I was going to use it shortly after my marathon. I really need to set that up asap.
I’m also due for a pedicure, but I’ve been waiting for my feet to look a little nicer (ie., all toenails intact and not damaged from racing.) That’s never going to happen, so I should just book that now.
Seriously. I love summer.

I need a pedi & massage too. And a beach. Definitely a beach.
I love posts with rambling thoughts … I’m jealous of your massage gift cert, get on that! And also your concert, sounds awesome, have fun!!!
