always a good time for photo cards
I know it isn’t Christmas yet (about the only time we really send cards, and definitely the only time we send photo cards), but with a little one on the way, you better believe I’ve been thinking about photo cards as birth announcements once he arrives. In fact, I’m already thinking about our Christmas cards (and it may involve outfits for the baby and the cat. It’s going to be an epic card.)
When it comes to birth announcements, I know I want to have several photos on the card. I love photos and I always have a hard time choosing between pictures. I’m sure this won’t change when I have a baby in a few months.
So from the Shutterfly site, I’m already looking at birth announcements:
Seeing how we’re several months from needing birth announcements, I turned my attention to Shutterfly’s thank you cards. We have some pretty fantastic friends and family members throwing several baby showers for us in the next couple of months, therefore leaving us with needing a lot of thank you cards.
I kind of like the idea of having a photo of me and the husband on a card.
And if we wanted to go a little simpler, I may try something like this:
After my trip to Hawaii last year, I realized I didn’t have much time to scrapbook, but I wanted a book to show friends. I ended up doing a photo book and was pleasantly surprised! I had never done a photo book before. I haven’t determined if we’re going to do a monthly book, bi-monthly, every six months or just a yearly book for our child, but I love the idea that I can just upload my picture, drag, arrange and drop – and send on for printing. (And, hello Christmas presents for the grandparents!)
Now let’s get back to the fun task of birth announcements – are you more of a one-photo type of person, or would you rather see multiple pictures on an announcement?

Photo cards as a birth announcement are a great idea.
