An ambitious Friday 5 #Friday5
Time for Friday 5! I’m linking up again with EmmyMom.
1. It’s been kind of a slow week. That said, two out of three of us have been sick since Monday. (I’m one of the two. The toddler is the other one.) I’m ready for the weekend so we can rest, and try to start next week out on the right foot – and without summer colds.
2. With all of the sickness, I’ve managed to get a lot of much-needed rest this week. (The toddler too. But he has also been skipping naps. Sneaky kid.) And I finished another book. Emily Giffin’s, “The One & Only.” At one point, I had actually set the book aside for a few days because I did not like the story. It ended ok. I’m not thrilled with the book as a whole. I need something that I’ll love again.
3. I’m considering taking on a fairly ambitious crafty-endeavor this fall leading into Christmas. It’ll involve an Etsy shop. And some kind, fun shoppers. Once I know a little more, I’ll post info. Just know that the creative juices are flowing. And I hope that this doesn’t totally blow up in my face. It’s an investment in time and money, and I’ve already invested some of both.
4. It’s AUGUST. Can you believe it? My son will be 3 at the end of this month. And I have a billion things planned (work stuff) this month. Apparently, it’s the beginning of the busy season at the university, and I get to be involved with welcoming back students AND working with alumni. (I’m loving everything so far, so this is definitely not a complaint.)
5. I’ve been prepping items for a consignment sale in our area next week. I have to have everything entered for tags by tomorrow night. Even though I sign up months in advance, and I know this sale is coming twice a year, I have SUCH a hard time finding stuff to consign. I don’t know if it’s because we’re still undecided on a second baby or if I’m just overwhelmed with all of the baby stuff. Maybe a little of both.
Puzzle pieces for lunch. (See my bento post for more lunch ideas.)
My meal at husband’s birthday dinner.
Tomorrow is another Stream of Consciousness post! It runs Saturday and Sunday, so if you have time and can link up (it literally takes 5 minutes to post. Another minute to link up.) Please do!
I can’t wait to hear what your big project is! I can’t believe it’s August, either….where did July go?
Oh, feel better, ya’ll!! And yeah… August already. (At least that means CHRISTMAS is closer! I love me some Xmas crap!)
Summer colds are the worst! I hope you two get to feeling better and that you DON’T give it to the third.
Hope you are both feeling better now.Looking forward to hearing more about your project.Sidewalk is looking good by the way :).

Glad you’re feeling better. Sometimes it’s nice to get some much-needed rest and come back strong!
I can hardly believe it’s August! My son has a birthday this month, too. He reminds me every day that he’s going to have a “Thomas Birthday.” The guy loves his trains. 🙂
I love that puzzle pieces sandwich. Happy (very) early birthday to your son! They grow up so fast, don’t they?
Aww it stinks being sick, hope you guys are all feeling better! I can’t believe it’s August either! My son starts preschool on the 20th and it really has made this summer feel super short!
Yes, the Summer did fly. I do feel that we accomplished a lot with our sun away at camp, and i get to do a lot of blogging! But we all know you can’t ever get ahead of that, but it’s been fun!
Kudos to you on getting some much needed rest! Now I want a red popsicle, it looks very refreshing. Have a great weekend.
Oh I want to hear about this project! And don’t feel bad, I have a hard time getting things ready to give away and have 5 kids. It never gets easier.
Busy week.. hope the sickness stops and those fries look amazing!
We had two here sick also, but it was still a crazy busy week. I’m looking forward to a day when I don’t have a lot of obligations!
I know August 1ts where has the summer gone? Last winter was so long adn cold that I dread this years winter!
Totally feel you! This summer feels crazy busy and yet time flies. Trying to enjoy every moment!
The year is just passing me by. So not ready for my son to go back to school. And I am ready at the same time.

I can’t wait to see what your next project is going to be! Those puzzle sandwich cutters are adorable
Good luck with the consignment. I don’t think I’ve ever done it, but it would be nice to get some of the thing out of the house that I don’t really need. hope you feel better soon too!
Must be something in the air. I am working behind the scenes on getting things ready for an Etsy shop too!
First of all the picture of your son eating a popsicle is adorable! I loved it and happy belated friday to you as well.
