an afternoon at the pumpkin patch
We’ve done a corn maze this fall (well, the week after Labor Day) and we’ve checked out pumpkins. This weekend, however, we had family in town and I decided that we’d get out of the house, check out the fall colors and visit another pumpkin patch. It was such a good idea.
The little guy fell asleep in the car on the way to Grandad’s Apples. When he woke up, he was super clingy. When my husband tried to set him down near some pumpkins, the baby freaked out. It took about 15 minutes to get him to warm up and accept the pumpkins as fun and not terrifying.
These signs cracked me up:
Warmed up:
After we bought our pumpkin, we walked over to the barn and bought lots of apples and treats (donuts, pie, cookies, cider.) My grandma sat with the baby for a few minutes:
We then called it a day and headed back home. I need to remember this place for next year. They had so many things for us to do, and we only spent a little over an hour there. We barely touched on the kids things (like feeding the one animal they had, checking out the corn maze or riding the kids “cow train” they had.) All in all, though, a very good day.
(On the way home, we witnessed a four-car accident, got stuck in tons of traffic and were just all-around stressed out. It wasn’t the ending I was quite anticipating, but so glad we finally made it back to the house.)
