I must admit something. It took me almost 6 months to order/mail baby announcements for our super fun and adorable baby girl. It took mere weeks when our son was born – and I shot most of the photos myself. So when Basic Invite asked if I’d like to try their service, I quickly accepted so I could finally get the announcements sent out (by now they’ve been mailed!)

First up, when ordering announcements or invitations, the process has to be simple. I wasn’t already a customer, but I did a search and found one design I loved. I began designing our announcement and it was simple to create an account to come back to later. It took very little time creating the card. I think the entire process was under a half hour – and that including changing colors, wording, etc.

The design I went with was Baby Blue Stripes Mini Gate Stripes. Despite the name, I loved that I could change the colors – even the shades of pink. I almost wish I had gone for a lavender, but the pink is really pretty and stands out. I customized each panel of the announcement. I have never come across an affordable custom announcement, and this one was really nice! I love how it’s folded closed when you take it out of the envelope. When they arrived, I was pleasantly surprised to see that they fold enough to only require standard postage.

The quality is outstanding! I used our hospital photos (which I paid for the photo rights to use.) The photos all printed clear and crisp on a cardstock.

One more surprising thing (to me) was a note in the package that claimed they send an odd amount of cards over what you ordered. So I ordered 25, but actually received 30 cards (still 25 envelopes.) In case I make a mistake with one of the cards, I have an extra!

In perusing the site, you’ll find invitations as well as holiday cards. We don’t have birthday parties in the next few months, but I will definitely be looking into Basic Invite for my girl’s first birthday (we’re halfway there!)
