What a weekend! October continues to be the busiest month of the year, but it’s been so, so good to us.

We celebrated our 11th wedding anniversary this weekend! We kind of celebrated the night before when we attended my cousin’s wedding in Asheville. It was fun to see family and just be in a historic part of Asheville for the night. My dad and stepmom came to town to help watch the kids for the night, so we really were able to stay out as long as we wanted and not worry about the running tab of a babysitter!

Of course we were home before 10:30. 😉

At the wedding (which was held at Homewood, if you’re local), we saw a mama bear and two cubs! They were playing in the park across the street from the venue about 20 minutes before the ceremony was to start. And then as we were seated, waiting for the ceremony to begin, one of them popped their head through some bushes to check out the scene. Needless to say, they created quite a stir.

We’ve also been party animals. Our kids had two separate parties they attended on Saturday (so, happy anniversary to US!) We had a party earlier in the month for my birthday, and we are planning our costumes for a Halloween party we’ve been invited to next weekend.

Last month I bought my kids matching Halloween pajamas. I love them, and they finally wore them this weekend. Are my kids the only ones that take really crazy photos? Every. Time.

I’ve been running some, but not racing. One day soon I hope to be back in the racing game.

We visited our area corn maze earlier this month, and the apple orchard has seen us several times. We’re basically checking everything off of our fall bucket list – all in October.

Our October game has been strong, though. Pumpkins, apples, corn mazes, whatever we can tackle outdoors. I’m almost ready for a break in the madness, but for now I’m enjoying this busy season.

How is your October going?
