Almost one year ago, I blogged about my love for author Jane Green’s books. I love all of her books. She is a fabulous chick-lit author, and while I’m not one who usually buys books in hardcover, I will buy hers when they’re first released. (Luckily, for my checking account, I picked up on her talent just a couple of years ago and was able to rack up on paperback copies of most of her books.)
Jane has a new book coming out next month, and I check her site every few months to see if she’s doing any events, talks, whatever, and she’s usually too far away (like Atlanta – that’s over four hours away from Asheville and is quite a drive for an event that might last an hour.)
Because of my
obsession fondness for Jane, you won’t be surprised that I follow her on Twitter.
This morning, she tweeted something that made me think about checking out her site. Just for kicks. Oh, and it reminded me that I needed to pre-order her book. (The book has been sitting in my Amazon shopping cart for a couple of weeks. I just never completed the purchase.) But, first, I needed to read her blog (it was about editing…something I could use more of.)
I clicked on the events and saw that she is COMING TO CHARLOTTE. It’s not Asheville, but it’s only two hours away! I immediately thought of the Designer Wife and how she just met her all-time fave author, and then I posted on Twitter:
Just pre-ordered @JaneGreen’s new book and am now I’m thinking of going to her book talk in Charlotte next month!
to which SHE RESPONDED:
JaneGreen @jaimemckee COME!!!
So guess where I’m going to be the evening of June 24? That’s right. Charlotte!
People. Remember when I told you that Carley Roney was following me on Twitter? Well, Jane Green might not be following me, but she at least talked to me.
And with that, I think Jane just moved to my number one spot on my list of favorite authors.
