We’ve made it halfway to a year!
This was the week we started solids. The first night, I gave her baby oatmeal. She was not a fan of the texture. I don’t think her brother ever hated the cereal and oatmeal (though he’s picky now.) So this was a little odd for us.
I did also try applesauce with her – and she took it a lot better than the oatmeal! We’ll try vegetables this weekend. My goal is to make and freeze most of her pureed foods for now. I did that with her brother, and it worked out well. When he was a little closer to a year old, I started giving him foods not made by me. I think we’re just going to play things by ear and see how it goes.
The girl can get around! We often have her on a blanket in the living room, and she can roll and scoot her way around. The baby gate is up – as it has been for the past 5 years – and we have no plans of removing it in the near future.
We visited the apple orchard again this past weekend, and I wore her. She did so great (and this gives me hope next week when I will be wearing her a lot at a conference.)
She goes to the doctor this week for her 6 month check-up. SIX MONTHS! Time is flying with this one.
