I may have figured out the sleep problem. One night/morning around 4:13 in the morning, I was racking my brain as to why she was suddenly waking up. I blame some things on wonder weeks, some on a growth spurt, but then I realized that her hands were cold. There’s only so much I can put on her when she sleeps. She sleeps with pajamas and a sleep sack, plus a swaddle blanket, but I don’t put anything on her hands since she soothes herself to sleep by sucking her thumb. I adjusted our thermostat so it’s several degrees warmer at night, and she started sleeping again until 6 a.m.!
We added pears to the mix of foods this week. It was love at first taste.
Also, she turned 7 months old!
Foods that she has tried so far:
We attempted Christmas photos this past weekend and it didn’t go well. In fact, I’m not sure how much worse it could have gone. We’ll try again in another week or so, but I don’t think the photographer believed me when I said my child is normally a smiley baby. Maybe I should direct her to the weekly posts? (Or maybe the photographer shouldn’t keep us waiting…)
Most of her pajamas are now 9 months, and some of her outfits are 9 months. I don’t swaddle her as much these days, but she wears a sleep sack, plus the swaddle blanket (loosely around her lower half.)
She has a Minnie Mouse rattle that she absolutely loves. And Sophie the Giraffe is a MUST in our house. No teeth yet, but plenty of drool and fussiness!
