Can anyone else believe that this is week 23?? Unbelievable. It’s been a rough week. I’ve tried not to let my mental health affect my physical health (friend’s cancer diagnosis, grandfather’s death, bad time at work….) and so far, I think it’s working.
How far along am I: 23 Weeks
Size of baby: McLittle weighs more than a pound, and is about 11 inches long. Again no fruit/vegetable comparison, but everything I’ve read said that the baby is doll-sized. And at my doctors appointment yesterday, we learned that he’s measuring a little bigger than 23 weeks. (Just a few days, so no worries.)
Total Weight Gain/Loss: I’m up 18.5 pounds. I was more discouraged by this fact when the doctor mentioned it. What’s even worse is that I’m not indulging like I could be.
Clothes: Same as before. Maternity clothes, and regular-sized workout clothes. I just wish I was doing more exercising.
Gender: It’s a boy!
Movement: Lots of movement these days! On Friday, I discovered that McLittle likes to move to Usher songs. I randomly heard two on my trip to and from Target. Later that night, Kenny felt him move for the first time!
Sleep: I can sleep as long as it isn’t 80 degrees at night. The heated blanket was removed from the bed yesterday and we’ve had cooler nights, so windows are open and ceiling fans are running. I love this time of year.
What I miss: Running. Walking up stairs without being out of breath. Energy. Feeling like a normal person.
Cravings: This week I wanted peaches. So I went for the canned kind (in it’s own juice, no fake stuff.) I crave fruit, yet I’m gaining weight like crazy.
Symptoms: I do get tired pretty quickly. And I’m feeling the need to rid our house of EVERYTHING. So out it goes. We’re actually having a yard sale this weekend, which should remedy some of those feelings.
Best moment this week: Kenny felt the baby move for the first time on Good Friday. How cool was that?
