{baby update} week 25
How have we made it to week 25? A little surreal, if you ask me. We have roughly 15 weeks to go.
How far along am I: 25 Weeks
Size of baby: McLittle weighs more than a pound and a half. This week he is roughly the size of a rutabaga. (Now we’ve moved on to a vegetable I only eat at Thanksgiving and Christmas.)
Total Weight Gain/Loss: I’m up 20 pounds. The weight gain has at least slowed a bit the past two weeks. For that, I’m grateful.
Clothes: Still loving maternity clothes, some more than others. You’ll notice in my photos that I’m big on flowy tops. I don’t like clingy shirts. Makes me too self-conscious, even though I know I shouldn’t be.
Gender: It’s a boy!
Movement: Still lots of movement. Kenny’s felt his movements a lot on Friday night – much stronger this week than previous weeks.
Sleep: Kenny’s been out of town since Saturday, and my sleep has been awesome since I have the whole bed to myself. Well, almost to myself. Chloe feels the need to take advantage of some of the extra space when Kenny’s not there. The downside to sleep this week has been my killer allergies. So there were two nights that I didn’t sleep well at all because I couldn’t breathe. The air conditioning is now on (for a couple of days at least) and I’m breathing like a normal person.
What I miss: Doing home improvement projects by myself.
Cravings: Chocolate milk. I’ve incorporated this into my morning routine when I don’t have a fruit smoothie. If I don’t have it in the morning, I have it in the evening. I’m obsessed.
Symptoms: The pains in my hips are still present. And I get leg cramps when I’m asleep – excruciating. But that’s all I have to complain about (and I really don’t complain about it.) Though, it isn’t fun when my legs are sore for a day after they cramp up at night….
Best moment this week: Spending Mother’s Day with my grandma and mom was pretty great. McLittle loved their church (according to the movements, at least.) And the music he moves most to now? Usher, Adele and Stephen Kellogg. All great choices.
I’m telling you, my photos? Stellar quality. Taken in my bathroom this morning (with the help of a step stool.)
And in case you missed my photo of the day, this was from Mother’s Day (24 weeks, 3 days):
My mother should clearly be my full-time photographer.
I have to admit…I have no idea what rutabaga looks like…off to google it now.
You are doing great! Hip pains suck…you look so cute in the dress!
