{baby update} week 29
This has been a fun week between our first baby shower (of four or five that are planned) and the Mumford & Sons concert (technically NOT McLittle’s first concert, since I saw Joshua Radin in February.) We’re really hoping that McLittle has good musical tastes.
How far along am I: 29 Weeks
Size of baby: McLittle weighs two and a half pounds. He’s roughly 15 inches long and is about the size of a Butternut Squash – one of my favorite foods.
Total Weight Gain/Loss: I’m up 25 pounds. (Will the weight gain ever end?)
Clothes: I bought a pair of maternity jeans at Kohls about two weeks ago and absolutely LOVE them. I have only purchased jeans when they’re on clearance, as I can’t justify spending $40 or $50 on pants (or any article of clothing.)
Gender: Still a boy!
Movement: He moves a lot, and I felt him move a TON during the Mumford & Sons concert. There were two openers, and one of the bands was really bad. McLittle didn’t move at all during that set, and I don’t blame him. They were terrible.
Sleep: Sleep is still good – as long as I’m not out until midnight and waking up at 6 a.m. for work. Completely my fault.
What I miss: I miss lifting things. We have a tree that fell in our yard, which I would be able to help lift if I wasn’t pregnant. I feel useless.
Cravings: This week has been all about the sweets. Maybe passing the glucose test is causing this? Chocolate is a favorite of mine, and now a TCBY has opened near my house. It’s convenient too, as I pass it on my way home from work every day (though I haven’t stopped yet.) Watermelon sorbet is calling my name, though.
Symptoms: This week I got very emotional over a few stressful situations – the airline not being sympathetic and charging us an arm and a leg to change a flight, my garden being destroyed by another property owner’s fallen tree. Stupid things that shouldn’t get me SO upset are tearing me apart now.
Best moment this week: The bedding arrived, the paint has been purchased and things are starting to come together. Our first baby shower was last weekend and we received so many great things for McLittle. It’s been a pretty good week in babyland.
And I know you’ll appreciate this photo – I match the bathroom. And it’s blurry. Perfect combination. 🙂
I get emotional like that sometimes too, only I can’t use incubation as an excuse. You are fine and totally justified in getting emotional.
Plus, you are freaking cute so it’s totally ok.
