Six weeks to go, and this past week was physically better than the previous week. Mentally, it’s getting a little stressful that we know we have six – or so – weeks left and we still don’t feel fully prepared to have a baby in the house.
We have our birthing classes this weekend, and it’s time to start thinking about a birth plan! We really need to organize phone numbers of people to call and text when the time comes.
How far along am I: 34 Weeks.
Size of baby: McLittle weighs about 4 3/4 pounds. He is (possibly) about 18 inches long. In weight comparison, he’s about the size of a cantaloupe.
Total Weight Gain/Loss: I’m up 32 pounds.
Clothes: This will continue to be the same for several more weeks. Lots of maternity clothes and some running t-shirts I scored from work (size large.)
Gender: Hopefully McLittle is a fan of blue! He’s a boy, and most of his clothes are blue.
Movement: Lots of movement late at night, first thing in the morning, and at times during the work day. Nothing really seems to get him going (or get him to stop) but the bedtime movements are pretty much a given.
Sleep: I’ve had a few rough nights of waking up and not being able to go back to sleep. I love afternoon naps (on the weekends, of course.) And after a particularly rough night, I found myself napping at 7 p.m. last night – and woke up with a cat on me.
What I miss: Sleeping on my back – and having more space in bed.
Cravings: Have I mentioned that Cookout opened 1.5 miles away from my house a week ago? I’ve been. A couple of times. I love their milkshakes!
Symptoms: My hips are starting to hurt when I’m laying down, so I’m going to mention that to my chiropractor when I see him again. I think staying so active has helped with the (lack of) soreness.
Best moment this week: I had such a fun time at the baby shower my friends threw this past weekend. A lot of our friends and a few family members were able to attend, and it was great seeing friends who I haven’t seen in months – or even in the past year. Everyone is so excited to meet McLittle very, very soon!
