{baby update} week 38
This has been one of the harder weeks, physically. I’m glad that most weeks have been great. Thankfully, the temperature outside has cooled down to the mid-80s and I can walk comfortably again. Also, I’m extremely grateful for my boss’s pool – I was able to float in it for 2.5 hours on Sunday.
How far along am I: 38 Weeks.
Size of baby: The baby is roughly 6.8 pounds this week. According to the doctor’s appointment, he’s measuring at exactly 38 weeks.
Total Weight Gain/Loss: 36 pounds.
Clothes: I wish I could go barefoot all of the time. Not just at home.
Gender: McLittle’s still a boy – or a blue-loving girl. We’re going with boy, though.
Movement: His movements are still frequent (shocking) and strong (not-so-shocking.) His feet are in my left-side and I’m pretty sure he likes to stretch or dance when I’m trying to work.
Sleep: I still wake up once a night. I think that’s when Chloe and I have our bonding moments. I wonder if she’ll keep me company during middle of the night feedings?
What I miss: Having feeling in my hands. (Keep reading….)
Cravings: This week I’ve had my share of frozen yogurt. And anything with garlic, but that was something I loved before.
Symptoms: My fingers HURT. If that’s the worst thing, though, then I can’t really complain. Except I’m going to complain. I’m now feeling numbness in my hands depending on McLittle’s movements. It’s especially bad when he’s dancing stretching. My right hand goes numb when I’m trying to type at work. Considering I work on a computer 99% of the time, this is not good. A brace has been recommended. We’ll see if I can track one down.
Best moment this week: It could have been when my doctor saw me in the hallway and said, “Wow. You are pregnant!” (I replied, “that’s what they tell me….”) Or it could have been scheduling an induction date, should McLittle decide to not cooperate. We’re not really sharing the date right now. Maybe soon. Or maybe not. We’ll see how I feel in the next couple of weeks. Another good moment of the week? The two and a half hours in the pool. I could do that again soon. Possibly even this weekend.
Ah well. Til next week.
I think McLittle kicked you & your whole body shook!!!!!
Haha he’ll be your photographer for a long time! Hopefully he’ll be more steady for McLittle. š
