{baby update} week 39
Still pregnant! And this week I had the pleasure of seeing my doctor twice! Not because she really likes me, but because my blood pressure was on the higher side of normal on Monday. When they checked it a second time that day, it was higher (but still in the normal range.) Bad things have been ruled out, and it was probably stress-related (end of the day, it was a Monday, I’d been working…) Now I’m watching my salt-intake and trying to avoid processed foods, in case Monday’s episode was food-related. I’m also avoiding mean people. Because that’s just good to do in general.
How far along am I: 39 Weeks. Can you believe it? I’m wondering if we’ll have a weekly update next week – or if that update will be announcing his name!
Size of baby: The baby is a little over 7 pounds this week. According to today’s appointment, he’s measuring at exactly 39 weeks.
Total Weight Gain/Loss: 37 pounds.
Clothes: The only change is that I’m wearing sandals all of the time. Occasionally I will wear running shoes for our walks, but other than that, sandals are my shoe of choice.
Gender: It’s a boy!
Movement: He’s moving a lot more when I’m walking around. He used to just move around when I was sitting or laying down. I’m also starting to feel him moving a little lower. Not bothersome, yet.
Sleep: I had two sleep-filled nights this past week. No interruptions, and it was amazing! Other than that, I still wake up (usually) once each night.
What I miss: I miss clothes that fit. And people treating me like a normal person. I don’t need someone to worry I’m going to have the baby at any given moment or that I’m going to fall if I walk too fast. It’s getting annoying.
Cravings: No real cravings this week. We’re cutting back on meat as a whole, but substituting a lot of other proteins in there. I’m just not as hungry as I once was (mainly because I have no stomach to speak of. McLittle is taking over that space.)
Symptoms: My right hand is numb a lot at work. My feet are also swollen, but when I showed my doctor she said, “you call that swollen?” Well, yes. Yes, I do. Because I normally have very skinny feet. Obviously this is a normal pregnancy symptom, and I’m lucky to have only recently started having swollen feet.
Best moment this week: The weather cooled down to the low 80s for our highs. I can’t even express how wonderful it’s been. Compared to the low 90s, 80s feels like fall! (Now that I say that, the weather will take a turn for the worse and be 90 by Monday, I’m sure.)
I decided to keep my photographer around. After all, he is the father of McLittle and it would be mean to fire him. Also? We classed it up with a half marathon (volunteer) t-shirt this time.
You look great…and still have that glow!
I’m thinking if he comes early, it will be on Wednesday!
Looking great! Prayers that your update next week has pictures of McLittle!
