Forty weeks. My grandma thought I was still at 38. Silly grandma.

How far along am I: 40 weeks. Crazy.

Size of baby: The baby is probably around 7.5 pounds this week. Websites are comparing his size to a watermelon.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: 39 pounds.

Clothes: I’ve managed to stain a lot of my maternity shirts, and I joked that I need new clothes since I’m starting to outgrow some of my shirts. Kenny won’t have it, though. No new clothes until I’m no longer pregnant.

Gender: It’s a boy!

Movement: He’s still moving a lot. I’m worried that he’ll never sleep when he finally arrives. He seems to have a lot of energy.

Sleep: Sleep is for the birds. I’ve slept so poorly this past week. Thank goodness I can take a nap when I get home from work.

What I miss: I miss moving around like a normal person.

Cravings: I’ve craved anything that isn’t meat, which is great that it’s summertime and we access to a lot of fresh vegetables.

Symptoms: My right hand just stays numb. I’m getting used to it.

Best moment this week: I normally complain about the comments from strangers, but I finally had a woman tell me she couldn’t believe I was 40 weeks (39 weeks, 6 days, really) and was out walking the dog. Made me feel great!

Hopefully this is our final weekly photo! We went outside to somewhere with a little nicer background – and then I realized that our dented fence was behind me. Oops!

  1. Yep. The numbness changes with certain movements of his. I’ve mentioned it to the doctor and it’s normal. I have a brace that I wear at night and for typing, which helps a little…

  2. I agree you look great! I am so excited to have watched you go thru this journey and I can’t wait to see McLittle’s first picture…he already has so many fans!!!

Hope the next few days are full of rest and little pain!
