I’m back at it….exercising, that is. I bought the Jillian Michaels 30-day shred DVD on Amazon late last week, received it Tuesday and started it on Wednesday. I must say, it’s only the second day but I LOVE it!

The concept? Jillian takes you through circuits of strength training, cardio and abs workouts. 3 minutes doing strength, 2 minutes of cardio, 1 minute of abs. The exercises differ and all you need (besides the DVD) is a mat (if you have a hard, uncarpeted floor) and light weights. I bought two 3-pound weights at Target on Wednesday to use.

I’ll probably do level one for 10 days before moving onto level 2. There are 3 levels. You can move to the different levels whenever you feel you’re ready and (so far) you can even do modified versions of some of the exercises.

My shoulders were a little sore this morning and I’m anxious to see if I’ll be sore tomorrow šŸ™‚ My legs definitely felt the workout tonight, which is odd since I run so much! Oh and I was sweating profusely after the first circuit!! I’m going to find a cbd store near me to take away some of the aches and pains that I’m getting.

My goal is to do the 30-day shred each day for 30 days. I hope I can keep it up. Seeing that it’s only 20 minutes, it shouldn’t be too hard….

(Side note: I also attended a TNT kick-off meeting tonight and while talking to all of the runners, I started to feel anxious to sign up for another full marathon!! I need to find one close by and in the fall that I can do.)

I haven’t really worked out since the marathon and it feels great to be back!
