Beating the school morning rush with Jimmy Dean Simple Scrambles®
This post is sponsored by Jimmy Dean® Brand, but the content and opinions expressed here are my own.
I feel like we just started summer vacation, but the reality is we’re just a few short weeks away from the start of school and our mornings are about to get chaotic once again. To make sure we get a decent start to our days, I love to food and meal prep. Jimmy Dean Simple Scrambles® breakfast cups are also a huge help and relief to have on hand. Last year was the first year we HAD to have our son at school at a certain time. Pre-K was fine, and if we were running late, it was not as stressful. But add two kids going to school and/or daycare, plus two parents that have to be at work at 7:30 or 8? Well, let’s just say there were more than a few times that we didn’t get to eat. (The kids ate, but the parents just dealt with it.) This school year, I’m going to be prepared.
First, I’ll continue to have our outfits planned out – and laid out – the night before. Bags will be packed (this includes backpacks and work bags), and lunches will be made. My son takes his lunch to school, so it’s prepared the night before. My daughter is also sent with breakfast, lunch and snacks. Also prepared the night before. My husband and I normally take leftovers, so I’ll be sure to have everything packed in lunch bags for us. And when we don’t have leftovers, I’m thinking of sending Jimmy Dean Simple Scrambles breakfast cups for my husband. The Jimmy Dean Simple Scrambles breakfast cups pack so much protein in one container – at least 22 grams of protein!
Second, I’m cutting fruit and putting it into containers on the weekend, so we have easier access to it during the week. I hate having to wash fruit and cut it every day. When it’s done in advance, not only will it save me some time mid-week, but I’m more likely to eat fruit and vegetables when they’re already prepared. I can’t be the only mom who gets a little lazy when it comes to food prep!
Third, I’m stocking up on Jimmy Dean Simple Scrambles breakfast cups. I love that these not only have the added protein of eggs, but they also have the added protein of meat. Bacon, Sausage or the Meat Lovers – you have quite a selection to choose from! Also, they are so easy to make! The eggs are packaged in a separate cup, so you have to remove the two packages, pour the eggs into the larger cup and cook for 50 seconds. Then stir in your meat/cheese packets. Cook again for another 25-45 seconds. (I did 35 seconds.) Stir and enjoy. It’s all in one larger container and this meal just took less than 2 minutes to prepare and not much longer to eat it.
You can find the Jimmy Dean Simple Scrambles breakfast cups in Walmart’s refrigerated aisle. Are you even more pressed for time? You can also order them online and use Walmart’s online grocery pick-up to save time.
I want to know…how will you save time this school year?
