A big trip!

As many of you know, I’ve been more than eager to visit Hawaii since my brother was transferred there. I really wanted to go this summer with the husband (originally I was planning on his spring break), but ticket prices are outrageous.

My mom is going with a friend in March, and that friend is bringing a friend. My mom asked me to go along and I told her I didn’t think I could make it happen. That was a couple weeks ago. Well, sometime over the weekend, I mentioned it to the husband (just the conversation) and he told me that he doesn’t *really* want to go. We can’t really afford the airfare, hotel, activities, etc. for two people in June and we have a small car loan to pay off (hopefully early.) He encouraged me to go – actually, he said, “I’ve told you like 20 times to just go. You need to go.”

So I’m going to Hawaii!!!

It was like pulling teeth to get one of the bosses to let me off at the end of March (someone else is going to be out of the office too, and he won’t let me and my boss out at the same time.) My boss convinced him, though, that I really needed to go on this trip.

My week of furlough (plus a few vacation days) will be spent in O’ahu, Hawaii. You have NO idea how excited this makes me! So last weekend when I mentioned it took 8 days to plan my first trip? Well, it only took one more to plan another trip – only this one is a REAL vacation!

I now have two months to plan out what I want to see…
