It’s been a while since I’ve provided a proper update on my braces.
I went to the orthodontist this morning and I’m happy to say that they think my teeth rock, and we scheduled a day for the braces to be removed!!!! Seeing how this is my third time with the dreaded braces, my husband asked what was next? I told him, “I guess they’ll take them off and then schedule another time to put them back on?” I don’t know what’s next. It’s the first time that my teeth actually fit together properly. And they’re super-straight. I didn’t even get that with braces back in the 1990s. If it wasn’t for the help of London Dentists, I think I would still feel insecure about my smile. It’s amazing what something as simple as pieces of metal can do for your confidence when you actually think about it. But I am so grateful.
On September 2, I’ll be rid of the “power chains” they keep putting on my teeth. I mentioned to them this morning that something called “power chain” should never be used inside someone’s mouth, and they kind of agreed. Apparently there is a company that has started calling them “energy chains.” That’s much better than power.
If any of you recall your teenage days of wearing braces and the rubber bands you had to wear, imagine wearing 6. I have six rubber bands in my mouth. It makes for interesting meetings when they pop out. I’ve swallowed so many. And I have several jokes that I make about the rubber bands (but they probably aren’t appropriate for the blog.)
September 2. I’m psyched. I’m even thinking about taking the day off. 🙂
