Bringing back training Tuesday
It’s true. I think I’m going to bringing back the Training Tuesday posts. Why? I wasn’t getting a ton of responses from the posts. However, I haven’t really been tracking my training very well. Those posts kept me accountable, in a weird way.
I really want to be exercising 5 to 6 times per week. Some weeks are better than others, but I can’t remember things from one day to the next, and I’ve deserted daily mile. I’ve also stopped using the running app on my phone. I’m basically a lost cause.
So. I think my next race is in early April. It’s a 10k, and it’s going to come the day after I return from a week-long work trip. YAY. But I know I can do it.
Here’s what I remember what I’ve done the past week few days.
Thursday – Weights
Friday – nada.
Saturday – much of the same. Nothing.
Sunday – ran 4.1 miles with Melissa and Carol. I managed to land on my ankle wrong 3 or 4 times. It was a good run, but I think I just hit too many holes. Literally.
Monday – rested the ‘ole ankle.
Today I did the elliptical for 16 minutes, ran 1.6 miles on the treadmill and then killed some abs work (really, I did the equivalent of 50 v-ups. They were intense.)
My goal for the next 10k is to finish in 1:05. Three minutes faster than last month’s race. (Oh my word. I just put a goal out there for everyone on the interwebs to see.)
So what are you up to?
Oh this is good!! Perfectly good reason to start it back up!
I quit daily mile when I quit running in any kind of consistency, my phone app doesn’t register when we are inside the school & Have totally slacked on duplicating the reading my walking buddy gets on her foot pod into my phone app.
Wednesday- 2.83 miles in 53:16
Thursday 1.54 miles in 28:27 minutes
Friday-nada-sick
Saturday- repeat of Friday
Sunday-recovery from Friday & Saturday
Monday-very very minor yoga -probably shouldn’t even count it :/
Today-3.08 miles in 57:35 minutes
(yes I texted her for the times/distances while typing this :))
hurrah for accountability!!
and runs with friends!
