It’s been a good weekend – a very busy one, which is why you haven’t heard much from me.
At some point last week, I got busy on the house. Our kitchen is primed and we have curtains hanging in our bedroom. Only took two months to get motivated. We had our housewarming party planned for Saturday night.
I’m still pretty sick. If I don’t feel better by Tuesday or Wednesday, I think about a doctor’s visit. So far I’m able to function.
Friday night was spent at home. We did some cleaning, watched TV and basically felt old.
Saturday morning met me with an 8-mile run at 7 a.m. in 22 degree weather. After that, I did a little more cleaning and we had a birthday party to attend. The party was for a 5-year-old and I think that party may have turned us off of having kids for at least another year. They get older. And they scream.
Made it home and our guests started arriving around 6:30. I think we had about 25 people come over. We were concerned there would be about 5 people to show up and our friends surprised us! It makes me wonder why didn’t buy a house sooner….oh yeah. The money.
We had a vote on the paint colors for the kitchen and I’ll be heading to Lowe’s tomorrow to buy paint. Lowe’s is my new Target. I love it!
So our final guests left around 1:15 a.m. and we got to bed a little before 2. Remember I said I hung curtains in our room last week. Well, I woke up a little before 8 and grabbed a drink before going back to bed “for a few more minutes.” Thanks to our curtains, though, the sun never hit our room, making Kenny think it was still the middle of the night.
We woke up at 11:55. I didn’t even sleep that late the day after the Christmas Jam (day 1) and I got home at 5 a.m. Crazy.
Today (what was left of it) has been spent cleaning some more (wine on the floor – I’m grateful now we don’t have carpeting upstairs) and trying to get ready for the week. I wrote out lots of thank you cards to our friends and now we’re ready for bed. It’s a shame I’ve only been awake for 10 hours and I have to go to bed again!
I’m furloughing tomorrow. Maybe I’ll have something more insightful then….Until then, I hope you had a fabulously fun weekend, as I have!
