I’ve had a pretty great day. Somewhat uneventful, but some of it was packed with good stuff. The uneventful stuff started first thing when I had the time of my orthodontist appointment wrong in my head.
Things got interesting really quickly around 10 a.m. (I thought the appointment was at 10:45 and it was actually at 10:15. Didn’t know it until 10 and it takes 30 minutes to get to that side of town.) I made it to the orthodontist in 20 minutes.
It was a lonnnnggggg appointment too. Turns out that my jaw shifts. Not a normal shift and it’s not consistent. I thought this would prolong the braces, but it shouldn’t. Lying there, I realized that dentists and orthodontists really should have posters on the ceilings, rather than the walls. Would make more sense and be more entertaining for the patients. Three more months, and these braces should be gone!
After work, I had to drive back to south Asheville for a PRAWNC meeting. I’m on the board and my responsibility for this year is to plan the annual awards banquet. Can I just say that I’m having THE BEST time planning this? It’s so. much. fun. It feels like I’m planning a wedding again – except not as stressful! I’ve all but nailed down the location and now have to find a caterer, musician and a few other event-type items. Sooooo much fun!!
We were there for almost 3 hours and when I left, I was starving. I stopped at Sonic (definitely not on my list of foods I should be eating this week if I want to lose some weight.) I got a small chicken sandwich, small tots (instead of going for the “regular”) and small drink. It cost $3.20. Major score!! And the tots were the worst thing for me….but oh-so-great!
There’s a pretty bad storm moving through the area now. I didn’t work out tonight, and instead I’m blogging, doing laundry, and starting the packing. I’m hoping to get to bed before 10:30 p.m. Hoping being the operative word.
(And an update to that workout – my abs are killing me today. For real. I didn’t think that the workout would make me sore, and I can’t bring myself to do the 20 minutes tonight. I will do it tomorrow, though.)
