can we extend the long weekend?

I don’t know about you, but I am so not ready for the work-week to begin again. At least last Monday I had a three-day weekend to look forward to.

Today I got to work on my sewing project that I tried to finish before Christmas. Turns out, I’m better at cutting the pieces out than I am at getting things sewn together in a timely fashion. I think I’m about 60% done with the project, and it doesn’t completely suck right now. (Hope my mom likes it when I’m finished with it!) In the process of doing that project, I realized I cut one piece 10 inches too short…and had to go to Hancock Fabrics to get a replacement piece of fabric. Lucky for me, there was a remnant piece that was 2 inches longer than what I needed – so I got it for 75% off. Add in my 11% off coupon, and I really scored big. I also picked up some Christmas fabric and one more remnant and I’m ready to get crafty again!

We reorganized our living room last night, and it looks like grown-ups live here. Finally. Our large tv no longer sits on a coffee table, we don’t have Wii games or DVDs sitting on the floor, and we have a coffee table that serves a purpose (other than being a tv stand.) It’s pretty awesome. But we have spent so much time moving things around and then admiring our work, I kind of missed the weekend.
