the cat report
In all of my talk about the baby, I’ve failed to update anyone on Chloe. Don’t worry. She’s still here. And I still spoil her as often as Lucas will allow.
Chloe’s actually doing better than any of us could have expected. When we came home from the hospital, she hid every time the baby cried, but she really just wanted to be near me so she never ran when he was just in the same room. We moved Lucas into his nursery on our third night at home, so I spend a lot of time in there in the middle of the night. Chloe actually comes in with me and sits on the ottoman next to the rocking chair, so I can pet her while also feeding Lucas. It’s a win-win-win situation. All three of us are happy.
The rug came in for the nursery, which Chloe loves to sleep on at night if she’s not on the ottoman. She rarely goes into the nursery if I’m not in there. Today I broke out the activity mat and she’s interested in it, so we’re going to have to work on keeping her off of it.
While we don’t get to play as often or at set times, we still play with her every day. And I’m still the person she sleeps next to at night – when I actually get to sleep. š
She doesn’t get too close, only occasionally sniffing his feet. She isn’t a fan of his crying (but, really, who is?), but she also doesn’t seem to mind that he’s here. I think the potential is there for Chloe and Lucas to be friends in the future!
Lucas will win her over eventually š
so glad they seem to be getting along, she will always be your first baby!
