We’re well over halfway through the year and how many of us have taken a look at our resolutions or goals that we made back in January? Have you stuck to any of them? I feel like summer has tried to derail me. Between the traveling and the cookouts and the parties and…life.

Thankfully, I took matters into my own hands last month and decided to recommit to Weight Watchers – not just through the tracking, but through meetings as well. I found a meeting time (and leader) that really works for me and my schedule – and I’ve been twice in the past 3 weeks. (I’m only required to go once a month.)

I have another half marathon coming up in November. I wanted to be at a decent training weight when training started. A few weeks ago, we (my husband and I) got strict with tracking foods again. I tracked like CRAZY and really controlled my meals through planning and meal prep. I also made sure that I had snacks on hand. Every evening before work, I over-prepared my food for the next day (I tend to make too much – so I don’t always eat everything). I always made sure I had ZonePerfect bars available for snacks. The preparation helped. I managed to lose four pounds. My husband lost even more. (Go, him!)

Can I just talk about the ZonePerfect Perfectly Simple bars right now? They’re so good – and they contain so few ingredients. I’m trying to eliminate a ton of junk from my diet and these bars help. I also take them along for after workouts or for long runs. They don’t upset my stomach and I have so many great things to say about these bars.

I wanted to make 2014 the year of the half marathon. The Asheville half I had signed up for was canceled, but I signed up for the Raleigh half in November. It may even be better. I’ve also taken on a few different races, like the Color Run last week. I need to see about signing up for any new local races.

I honestly feel really great with my progress in 2014. I haven’t reached my idea goal weight yet, but clothes are feeling better and my fitness level is feel pretty great. I’ve been pushing myself in my lunch workouts and I know I’m improving.

Now I have to keep it up. I’ve recommitted to my meal planning and trying new recipes.

ZonePerfect recently sent me a blogger survival kit (for me) and a well-being essentials kit (for one of my fine readers.) The well-being essentials kit consists of a pedometer, tumbler, lip balm, hair ties, hand sanitizer and a box of ZonePerfect bars. It’s a pretty fun kit. 1. Those Zone Perfect bars really are great. They have oodles of great flavors, but like you said, the ingredients are minimal. That’s awesome. Good luck on your journey!

  2. I have not stuck to anything health related. I started off good then fell off. I am now back on it I just need to get more motivation to move.

  3. Weight Watchers is a really great program. They take a balanced approach to weight loss instead of the fads that so many other places use.

  4. Good for you and good luck on your half marathon! Weight watchers is a great program I know lots of people who have had success myself included

  5. I am a lifetime WW member but I have gained my weight back. I have tried meetings around here over the years but I can’t find any that I really connect with like the one I had when I lived 1500 miles away.

  6. I’ve had many friends be successful on weight watches but never tried it myself. There is a meeting place up the road, I might have to reconsider.

  7. WW is great, they all are. It’s all about keeping up with it. I need to have someone I check in with, that is why a program works well for me. Problem is I need to get back into one now!

  8. It’s not always easy to stick to our resolutions. I’m a Beachbody coach and certified personal trainer. I admit that I haven’t stuck to my resolutions. There’s been a bunch of family stress with my daughter and it derails me.

  9. For the first half of the year, no…I didn’t stick to my health and fitness goals. However, a recent health scare got me fired up to really make an effort to change my health habits. So far, it’s been great. I am in the zone now and whenever I read posts like these, I feel inspired even more to do all that is in my power to get ‘better.’

  10. Goals? Oh yeah, I did make goals, but I didn’t stick to them, wah!! Mid-year pick-up sounds good to me (or 3/4 year as the case may be). 🙂

  11. I don’t really make resolutions, but I had hoped this summer to have lost 20 lbs that i usually lose each summer. So far I have gained 10 then lost the 10. I could so use this to help me keep moving forward with weight loss goals!

  12. My husband has recently been very committed to taking his health in his own hands and has been working out almost daily for the past few months. The Zone Perfect bars would be great for him to pack in his gym bag for an after work snack.

  13. No, I have not. I just decided to start working towards my goals again. There are still 5 months left in the year!

  17. It is important to keep track of the progress we make on the goals we set for ourselves. Finding the right tools and equipment often makes it easier for us to keep on task.
