This totally counts as one of my completed projects this year. I never said I had to try 12 different things, right?

So a couple months ago, I was going through what has become my craft closet. All of my scrapbooking/sewing/craft items end up dumped in this oversized closet. And as I was cleaning out the fabric, I came across the Yankees fleece fabric I had bought years ago. I bought two different types (in two separate shopping trips – one was purchased online, one was purchased while I was in New York several years ago) and I had no clue what I was going to do with them. I just knew that I was going to make something for my brother (who is a diehard Yankees fan.)

I laid the fabric pieces on top of each other and trimmed the edges, and then set about making a really large throw blanket. (I went into more step-by-step detail a few months ago. I won’t rehash the details here.)

Let me tell you, my cat loves this blanket. Instead of shipping it to Jason, I’m going to give it to him in August. I’ll have to wash it a few times since he’s highly allergic to cats. It’s so super comfortable that I’m considering finding the fleece again and making him the new one and keeping this blanket!

And I know several people who may comment on the sports team. It’s ok. I can take it. 😉

This is the seventh (but really it was completed fourth) completed project in my quest to do 12 this year! I’m a little behind in posting, but I have been hard at work on several things! See project 1 | project 2 | project 3 | project 4 | project 5 | project 6 in previous posts.

Are you working on anything right now? Do you have a closet that is bursting at the seams with craft supplies? I really need to clean out my scrapbooking supplies asap.

  1. Wow! That’s an amazing blanket and also my favorite baseball team! I’m actually thinking about getting myself into DIY projects to stay occupied this summer. 🙂

  2. My feeling is you may have to make a new one–I doubt your cat is going to give it up so easily. AND I’m a New Yorker-so go Yankees!

  3. Cute cat! I’m working on a burlap table runner and some napkin rings for a tablescape…hope to be on the blog soon!
