Way, way back in the day (think the days that Dawson’s Creek was airing – and not in reruns), I went to a lot of concerts. At some point, I was even trading live shows. I was a music nerd, and proud of it. And somewhere along the way, I discovered a couple of artists such as Matt Nathanson and Stephen Kellogg. I remember the first time I saw Matt Nathanson. Back then, he played a 12-string guitar and I was hooked on his music.
I recall having a conversation with him in the parking lot after one show in Charlotte and we discussed his song “Bare” when it aired on ‘Dawson’s Creek.’ Matt and I were both huge Dawson’s Creek fans. We were destined to be friends.
(At some point, I thought it was smart to resize my photos to 300 pixels wide or tall. Sorry about that.)
Since then I did the responsible thing, like I became an adult, got married, bought a house and eventually had a baby. My concert days were limited. And last October, after a long time of not seeing him, I saw Matt in Charlotte. This time, though, he was performing a sold out show in a rather large venue and there was no intimate parking lot conversation after said show. He doesn’t tour often in my area, but I still keep up with his music. (He’s about to finish yet another record. This excites me.)
Live Nation has partnered with Yahoo! Live to bring music fans such as myself a concert a day for 365 days….and Matt’s show is TONIGHT. (August 21, 2014, in case you’re reading this a little late.) They’ll be streaming his show from Cleveland, Ohio. And in case you miss it tonight, you can stream it later – this is also a good feature for people like me who just can’t stay awake late on a weeknight.
And if Matt isn’t really your kind of music, they have all types of artists ranging from Taylor Swift to Justin Timberlake to Usher. (Ok, all three artists I still love, but you get the idea.) Ingrid Michaelson will also be featured one day.
I think that Yahoo! Live must have been reading my mind…or my playlist.
If you’re a lover of music, and have a chance, be sure to peruse all of the upcoming artists that will be featured in this concert series. I’m pretty excited to see people like Justin Timberlake and Yonder Mountain String Band.
(This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Yahoo! Live. All opinions are my own. In fact, if you do a quick search on my site you’ll see that my love for Matt Nathanson’s music runs deep.)
