crafty cuteness

A couple of weeks ago, I discovered Whimsical Creations. Melanie’s blog was linked from Beth’s blog (a You Capture post) and I started clicking around her blog because everything looked SO cute!

I forgot to put the blog in my Google Reader until the next week when I saw the blog linked again for another You Capture post.

Melanie is from the Buffalo, NY area, which I thought was pretty cool, and she works with polymer clay. And all of her pieces are wonderful!

I eventually did what my husband thinks I’m crazy for – I emailed Melanie to see if she could make a custom ornament…..with our cat on it. I sent her a link to a picture of Chloe, and now we have our 2009 “family” ornament.

(I blurred out our last name and the husband’s name – I know our names are all over the place, but I felt I needed to do it for this one.)

And I couldn’t help myself. This all took place just before our anniversary, and I thought her wedding cake photo holders were adorable, and asked if she could do one in burgundy (of course she could) so now I have this for my desk:

I just need to get it to the office to put one of our wedding photos in.
